Today, « La Maison Mouchart » offers more than 100 years’ experience in superior wine and spirits. This heritage has been passed on from father to son ever since Arthur, the first of the Mouchart family, founded “La Maison A. Mouchart et fils” in 1897.
He brought an alternative to the Belgian market, which was more beer-oriented: French wine from Champagne, Bourgogne and Bordeaux,
but without losing sight of the production of spirits such as the Nevada and the famous Amer “Mouchart”. In 1930, the winecellar in “rue Sans Souci” was no longer suitable. So Arthur decided, with his brother René’s help, to settle in “rue Eugène Cattoir”, the current address of « La Maison Mouchart ».
René further expanded the family business with superior wine imports in oak barrels, allowing them to age and bottle the wine in their own cellar.
