  • I would like to know how I am able (online) to search for wine retailers that carry a specific wine.In Canada, the liquor control boards tend to have a website where we are able to search by the name of the wine &/or winery to find out which merchants carry the wine in our province (every province is different).  Here is the search for the provi... • A thread on another category inspired me to look this one up and write it out, because it's from Ben Franklin.  Who was pretty smart, and woulda been a Snoother had he lived to these days of the internet.  Well before Mr. T. Jefferson went to Paris, Franklin already had a great collection of wine, over a thousand bottles (the biggest percentage ... Read More

  • Not, I repeat not, a thread about whether the 2009 Bordeaux is great, but more about whether you trust the reviews. After the 2009 en primeur week, the opinion is unsurprisingly about a brilliant "vintage of the decade". • I'm new to the wine scene, but dead keen on improving my knowledge everyday. I stay in Stellenbosch, South Africa.I'm aware that wine should be stored laying on it's side so that the cork stays moist and touching the wine. However, I'm set on buying a magnum (1,5 litre bottle) of my favourite wine (Beyerskloof Pinotage, 2007 vintage) from my loc... Read More

  • I know we talked about this back in December, but couldn't find the thread to bring it back, so I'm starting over....What's the group concensus as to where we are in the economic cycle for wine bargains?
