  •  I'm rather new to wine. I've only had de-alcoholized red wines from Ariel and I've had some red and white wines with some relatives who really know their wine. I remember enjoying it very much. But recently I've gotten into wine on my own. I recently picked up some Yellow Tail Shiraz from a nearby Total Wine store. Specifically, I picked up a f... Read More

  • I am a dyed in the wool fan of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlots, Sangiovese's and a few Chardonnays and Pinot Grigio's. I am trying to widen my spectrum to include Pinot Noir's. I live in the Pacific Northwest so the Pinot Noir's are readily available due to the large varieties from Oregon. Before I embark on purchasing some different brands I would l... Read More

  • How things have changed. When I first joined Snooth which has been quite a while now I was drinking mainly reds, usually Shiraz and Rioja and not much else. Now I find myself drinking a wide variety and really enjoying every minute. • I've recently discovered my interest in wine since turning 21, and I've been learning some of the lingo through this great site.  I'm about to graduate from college in May, and I hope to leave my days of Franzia and refrigerated Yellow Tail out of a solo cup behind.I have a lot to learn, but I just wanted some input from you on how to become a w... • Okay, so this is not news, and it's been discussed on the forum before. In the spirit of GDP's new rants, I figured I'd throw mine out there as well. I've seen too many hangovers caused by misjudged pacing due to wild variations in alcohol content.Mostly this is difficult in restaurants. If we're shopping in stores we can check the label easily ... Read More

  • One topic leads to another! How many of you think cork taint is less common than it was a few years ago? I think things have gotten better and I know of at least one cork broker who has a method of purging the TCA out of the corks before delivery. Plus, they work with a very sophisticated wine lab and the QC is much better. What do you think? Read More

  • New here.  I have "inherited" some red wines which vary in vintage from 1981 onward.  How do I find out information regarding when these wines are best consumed?  I don't want to miss the best times to enjoy these wines but feel a bit lost and overwhelmed trying to find information. Thanks, and really appreciate any advice.  This might not be wh... Read More
