  • Ivanka and her husband are nothing of sweetness and light, JD. They just seemed less horrible than dad. But they are perhaps as myopic and corrupt for their years and generation as pater familias. You might like them at a dinner party but probably not if you saw them in action in the business context. The wild card in this, for the moment, is Kel... Read More

  • We flew out west in early March (04 March 2017) to continue our annual wine tasting / visiting trips with relatives and friends.  The hotels and other places to stay were all set, but the wineries on the visit list were not totally determined in advance.  We planned two days of tasting in the Willamette Valley (McMinnville, Oregon) and two days ... • We just ordered six of Kelly's wines, 2 each of the 2014 Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir, the 2014 Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir Red Barn Blocks and the 2014 Momtazi Vineyard Pinot Noir.  These are for a fall delivery I believe. Even better news - we are considering another trip to the west coast in March of 2017.  This time we hope to fly into Seattle ... • Nice VVSounds like Soter was the more enjoyable experience? Nice to have a tasting where the wines have a little bottle age on them...also good to hear about that Soter Chard, sounds interesting. Also interesting about the bottling of 2015...just noticed Kelly Fox just bottled a bunch of her 2015's a few days ago. Seems like about 9 months of ele... Read More

  • Well, that Trump wine doesn't even compare to some of the other wines we've tasted.  Sandra has the last of it in her glass, so we can still toast his win in Florida tonight.  It's a shame that Rubio had to drop out of the race.....not. JD - I wonder how that 2013 Eyrie Pinot Noir is going to taste?  I'm really looking forward to our visit  with... • I think we only had to cancel a tasting room in McMinnville, Oregon.  Here's the current plan:We are going to try for Stoller as the 2nd winery on the Sunday (20 March) after Domaine Drouhin. For the Saturday (19 March), we'll try for J. K. Carriere and then Kelly Fox Wines.  The Soter Winery is scheduled on the following Saturday (26 March), ju... Read More

  • We've filled out an inquiry on Kelly's web site asking about stopping by for a tasting on 19 March.  I hope they do tastings at the winery.  Meanwhile, I'll look for one of the bottles out here in Virginia but I doubt I'll find one. Read More

  • Anyone have any experience?I've noticed Kelley mentioned among the best company in Oregon Pinot, popular with Somm's and the like. Being a Burgundy lover, I've mostly found CA Pinot painful (though I've found a few I like!), and Oregon Pinot quite a bit more elegant, but sometimes or most of the time more boring rather than painful (as I find wi... • We all know where most of America will be on Super Bowl Sunday, watching the big game on TV. And with this yearly iconic spectacle comes the anticipated clever commercials that for some are maybe more entertaining than the game itself! Family and friends will join many of us as we cheer on our favorite team until we are hoarse and all that energ...
