  • I spearheaded this incredible custom design last month. The ambient temperature in my region is approximately 55 degrees throughout the day; ideal for harnessing the explosive potential lurking within this vast selection. The tight seal on this cellar door makes for the perfect, dank environment. I have plans to expand later this year. Okay, eno... Read More

  • JD, the Golden Slope is 2012 and I was pretty surprised when I found it for sale in a wine store.RBA, I didn't participate in the auctions, just kept watching the offers from the winemakers until I saw one I liked and then just went and made a purchase.OT, I know I am only one of many of your grateful converts and I'm also trying to spread your ... • Yes OT, I definitely blame you for the Liquid Farm and we're going to have to have a "come to Jesus" meeting next time I'm out there (end of April). Was very tempted to jump on one of those EMH verticals but held back and now I see they're sold out, maybe next year.I have to admit that I found some Liquid Farm Golden Slope at a local wine store ... • Unfortunately, it would be impossible to guess what it was based on that  information! :)However, if it truly was sweet, then I would recommend you look for Lambrusco, should be at any store in Texas that has wine.  It's inexpensive and fairly sweet.   It's a good place to start. Read More

  • Nothing goes with all foods. Maybe Grenache/Syrah. Chenin Blanc goes well with food, The label will have the denotation Sec or Demi-Sec in the wine name. Sec may mean dry but the allowable sugar in Sec wine makes that meaning a nonstarter for me. There are also many dry wines that give the perception of sweetness so don't narrow your views too m... • I have been trying to find info on wine terminology. Im lost everytime I visit the wine section and read the reviews as I dont know what they mean.  Please help. I enjoy red and whites that are not very sweet and not dry and that I can drink 3 sips at once without  having to pucker. Not as sweet as Beringers white zifandel  and not as dry as Mir... Read More

  • Yes, Virginia does have a nice collection of wineries to visit. Sarah, you appear to like sweet wines and I started out that way - specifically with plum wines from the grocery store.  Most Virginia wineries offer a sweet wine or two, generally as a desert wine.  What part of Virginia are you from?  I'm close to Washington DC, more specifically ... • I'm with you, Mark, on the passion fruit (esp. since it'll be chemical, anyway, and I assume you're referring to some marketed powder or prepared bottle monstrosities). I also can understand where you come from on the Jack and the crisps, though I grew up on both, but will not agree with your 'unnatural' term for garlic in olive oil. Don't know ... Read More

  • I used to think I just didn't like wine, but after finding one made from my FAVORITE grape on earth, the scuppernong/muscadine that happened to be made near where I lived, I fell into a snuggly affair with that one, the Duplin Hatteras Red and decided to try a few more.  So far, the only other wine I've tried and liked enough to purchase again i...
