Welcome to good wine online. This is a new site with a different approach to marketing good wines. We’re a family owned wine merchant and we love drinking good wine just as much as selling it. Jane and I have a real passion for good wine, in particular good Italian wine and, more recently, Argentinian wine which is now challenging the very best from the rest of the world. We recommend some stunning, little known examples on this site. We also import some superb little known wines from other countries such as Australia. – Description from dvoristanac

  • We’ve all been there. You’re shown to your table. You’re feeling good. Then the wine waiter (or sommelier) appears with the wine list. The table goes quiet as everybody prays that the inevitable game of pass the parcel doesn’t end with the leather bound tome in their lap. As the wine list circulates, waves of pressure and an air of intimidation ... Read More

  • A recent video by Vox.com, in which a tasting survey between staffers showed that tasters liked cheap wine just as much as expensive wine, spurred popular health magazine SHAPE to run a story on how said plonk affects the quaffer's health.  “So (if) it tastes just as good no matter how much you're forking over, are you at least getting more of a... • Ron, I am getting sucked deeper and deeper into your quandary.  I had not really considered any decision you may have regarding the 5 bottles that do not show damage.  I am curious, are they five different botles?  If you purchased multiples, I would certainly open up one soon and check it out.  Then you can make a decision whether or not you wa... • Come on, guys, stop making excuses for a supply chain with hiccups. It *is* *also* FedEx's 'fault', though not on the delivery person level. Their planning and practices units back at headquarters need to set specs in such ways that semi-perishables like wine are not left in a truck for days during the summer. Period. FedEx has always had a numb... Read More

  • Wine is not the first pairing that comes to mind when you’re talking about Brazilian cuisine. Coffee, fruit drinks, cachaça, and beer are all more traditional and have longer histories with the food. Portugal has a long history of wine production, but the first settlers in the 1500s found the northern regions near the equator too hot and too wet... Read More
