Welcome to good wine online. This is a new site with a different approach to marketing good wines. We’re a family owned wine merchant and we love drinking good wine just as much as selling it. Jane and I have a real passion for good wine, in particular good Italian wine and, more recently, Argentinian wine which is now challenging the very best from the rest of the world. We recommend some stunning, little known examples on this site. We also import some superb little known wines from other countries such as Australia. – Description from dvoristanac

  • OK, what's your favorite market in your area for buying good meats, dairy, produce, etc. when you want to prepare a proper meal, likely accompanied by wine? Or just for everyday living? And what do they provide that you value so?Last couple of times I was through San Fran I realized Bi-Rite in the Mission would be mine there. Very much appreciat... Read More

  • OT, I'm not saying you should come around.  Where you live, there are way more opportunities to buy excellent under-the-radar wines at fair prices.  While California may lack in great $15 bottles (and not always), I think the good Syrahs you have introduced many of us to make purchasing their N. Rhone competitors mostly superfluous.  When you ge... Read More

  • Apologies, Stephen, that I haven't had much time to contribute to this, but one thing I was leading towards with my first post up this thread is that IMHO you shouldn't be excessively perfectionist about your cherypicking but instead just start drinking as many CA cabs, syrahs, PNs and zins as you can, and ditto for the chards, sparklers and oth... The fundamentals of the business have been tacitly accepted by wine drinkers for decades -- the same varietals and regions have been favored vintage after vintage.
