  • Hello all!Put together a nice little timeline of photo's from over the past several weeks in Sonoma County. I really do love Harvest time each year. Obviously in CA everyone is freaking out a little at the prospect of being fined, so I enjoy my new title of 'intern' for a couple of weeks to make sure safety is a must. Read More

  • As a person who loves and frequently enjoys wine, I have been very disturbed lately by world, and various govt agencies, calling all ETOH consumption, including wine, to be "deadly", for the most part.    I have posted on this before, citing an article wherein the WHO called ethanol a major carcinogen.  While most just ignore this hype and move ... • I would love a suggestion of a great red and white wine for a beginner (literally brand new)!! I've read online that Rieslings are a great option for white and perhaps a Zinfandel for a red. Please advise. Thank you soooo much!T. Read More

  • Hi everyone....I just finished uploading all our wines (and we have lots!) from Abbazia di Novacella.  Have you heard of these amazing wines??? and it is full of rich history too - a monastery in Alto Adige, Italy dating back to 1142 (yes, that's 870 years of history!).I am trying to get a feeling of how Snooth works....has anyone tasted the win... • Okay, so this is not news, and it's been discussed on the forum before. In the spirit of GDP's new rants, I figured I'd throw mine out there as well. I've seen too many hangovers caused by misjudged pacing due to wild variations in alcohol content.Mostly this is difficult in restaurants. If we're shopping in stores we can check the label easily ... Read More

  • My epiphany wine was a 2000 Turley Zinfandel (sorry, don’t remember the vineyard) drunk on a tiny tropical island. Here’s the story:Tropical WhineImagine yourself on a tropical island, with azure waters and swaying palms. Imagine savory meals of fresh lobster, mangrove crab and toothsome tuna. Now imagine pairing those appealing meals with wine ... Read More

  • GalardiMastroberardinoSalvatore MolettieriThese are the three names that I put into my cellar... and sit on with the intention of drinking them years from now.  However, I've yet to have an Aglianico that's really impressed me.  I guess the closest I've come is Mastroberardino naturalis historia, after a long decant.  It was more modern than I h... • Laphroaig 10year Islay In Tube

I knew was an Islay type of person the moment I tasted Laphroaig in an Edinburgh pub.The smoke, the peat, the tang of salt and iodine, barley grown in a damp, brackish clime. A fishy oiliness on the aftertaste.Nothing on earth captures subtle flavors quite like liquors. The best don't just taste like something, they evoke a place and time.It r... Read More

  • Chianti Classico Gallo Nero Riserva Carpineto Toscana Italia 2004

My boss had this at a party. We live in PA so hard time finding it. Ordered it from Benash Liquors in Cherry Hill, NJ then picked it up. They couldn't get the 2004 so got the 2003 instead. Very good--I would recommend this to anyone who likes sangovese-type wines. Read More

  • So we're all here and we see that many of us got bitten by the sweet white wine bug, only to move on? My wine life begn  ightIalandne, ent through almost everything else, ends with medium to light Italian red wines, only to start the circuit again, yes my tastes change, evolve and vary! So where did you start, where are you, where do you want to...
