Formed in 1983 David J Watt (Fine Wines) Ltd specialises in the sale of fine Bordeaux wines which the Company buys direct from the very best Chateaux and Bordeaux houses. For us , Bordeaux wines represent 95% of the annual sales and David Watt has been buying the vintages since 1975. Buying en primeur is a speciality of ours. Not only is the opportunity to buy the wine whilst it is still in Bordeaux in barrel financially attractive but also, and most importantly for investment customers, we know the history of the wine and the conditions of its care. These factors are crucial in maintaining its value. We offer a very personal and approachable service. David Watt is always delighted to offer an honest and impartial opinion. He travels to Bordeaux three or four times each year to taste and re-taste wines we have purchased and with very few exceptions, we only offer for sale wines which he has tasted. A result of the expertise we possess is an excellent working relationship with the French proprietors and wine-makers. Traditional values are important to us and so our customers are never bombarded with unwanted mail or calls.
