You can still get this wine at Costco or on-line. A great buy at $11 bucks. It is a mid to full bodied blend of Cab, Merlot and a little Carmenere to make this that earthy finish. Great with grilled lamb. This wine is also smooth enough to drink by...

Finding myself a little more curious as to what's going on at this price point lately, with neighbors looking to me for advice, and I did hear BLM's call recently as well.So two regions came to mind, not only for reasonable pricing, but for good overall quality potential. The Languedoc in the South of France, and Etna Rosso from the volcanic soi... Read More
So, today was a big day for us of a Social Security/Medicare persuasion. I had my annual visit with Dr. Yahya. A couple good things happened on today's appointment:I don't have to go back for a year. I take that to mean that I'm in pretty good health..I made an appointment to go back on July 11, 2017. The fact that the lady made the appointm... Read More
I spearheaded this incredible custom design last month. The ambient temperature in my region is approximately 55 degrees throughout the day; ideal for harnessing the explosive potential lurking within this vast selection. The tight seal on this cellar door makes for the perfect, dank environment. I have plans to expand later this year. Okay, eno... Read More
Hey everyone, what are some of your favorite 'everyday' or M-F types of wines to accompany a regular dinner? I personally have enjoyed the Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, and I usually pick it up from Total Wines out here in Virginia. This is one of those fruit-forward cabs that isn't too complex for me to appreciate, and it usually cost... Read More

I just checked my inventory--updating after purchasing some Myriad Syrah (thanks, OT!) and putting in the Jemrose Syrahs I bought a month ago (thanks again, OT!) and it is now official: I have more Syrah than Cab on hand and quite a bit pending delivery. (Um, thanks OT? Love the wines but the space is getting a little tight...)So it seemed lik... Read More
Hi, I am an accidental wine enthusiast. As part of a major remodeling project including our family room I revived my interest and enjoyment of wine. Our family room was redone using dark hickory planking and the room has a short wall next to our fireplace. This wall has always presented a challenge to make use of the space. I researched and sear... Read More

I buy wine where I find it.I am familiar with both BevMo and Total Wine & More. Personally, I buy a lot of wine at Total Wine. They have pretty good prices and purchase of 6 or more 750ml bottles (and these can be mixed) gives a 10% discount. Occasionally, I get a coupon that yields additional discounts. I like their variety and the fact, li... Read More
@ EMARK, Your shopping habits mirror mine. Wine and spirits are sold at supermarkets here in Washington. The addition of hard alcohol was voted in this year so I find this a convenient place to pick up some of my favorite wines on a regular basis. I too find Costco a nice place to pickup that unusual stray that I am curious about. I did belong ... Read More
