Blanc & Rouge is a wine shop that has been serving the historic neighborhood of Dumbo, in Brooklyn, New York, since 2000. The name is French, in honor of the founder's nationality and passion, but the stock is international, covering all major wine producing regions. We have over 150 wines that retail for $15 or less. Although our shop features every-day values, our e-commerce business focuses on the rare and hard to find. We know that these wines require great care. We buy our rare wines only from reliable sources, and only if we are assured that the provenance is good. Many of our rare wines were purchased on release. All rare wines are stored on premises at perfect cellar temperature.

  • Hi Guys:In my ongoing saga of trying to learn how to cook, I'm planning on giving lobster thermidor a whirl soon. I'd like to pair it with 2-3 wines, mostly as a pairing experiment to see which works best. Any ideas? I was thinking I could potentially combine the dinner with the vintage VS NV champagne combo I've been meaning to do...other ideas... Read More

  • My friends moved recently to Phoenix, so on my first visit there, we ventured out to some of the wine country in Arizona.  I wasn't able to get notes from every winery, but the ones I did are included here.  Some tasty surprises and some are near Sedona, which is a beautiful destination to visit. We began at Alcantara Vineyard.  Nice property wit... Snoothrank:

Jammy black currant and blueberry fruit greet the nose showing off a bit of a pruny edge with very black peppery top notes and a slightly dusty character. In the mouth this has surprisingly intact acid, offering decent brightness and height in the mouth with lovely blackberry fruit but here is a fair amount of alcohol showing here, and while th... • With the help of instantaneous search results, anyone can pick out a good $100 bottle of wine these days. The real question is how to bluff your way to the blue chip crowd and how to look good doing it. The answer breathes with more sense than dollars and with the admirable confidence exuded by those who know a good deal when they smell it. Of c... Read More

  • Well, I am headed back up to Amador County (plymouth, ca)  for wine tasting after several years.  It is not my first choice in wine regions, but a friend wants to visit.   I see, that in my absence, that several new wineries have popped up there.... and it is not still all Zin and Viogner.  I was doing some research, and it appears there are mor...
