Blanc & Rouge is a wine shop that has been serving the historic neighborhood of Dumbo, in Brooklyn, New York, since 2000. The name is French, in honor of the founder's nationality and passion, but the stock is international, covering all major wine producing regions. We have over 150 wines that retail for $15 or less. Although our shop features every-day values, our e-commerce business focuses on the rare and hard to find. We know that these wines require great care. We buy our rare wines only from reliable sources, and only if we are assured that the provenance is good. Many of our rare wines were purchased on release. All rare wines are stored on premises at perfect cellar temperature.

  • Unless you bought them with aging potential in mind, a fair few of your 2013 pink and white wines won’t be drinkable by next spring. Guzzle down the last of those quick-to-turn bottles, cellar a few others, and ready yourself for the onset of fall wines. Even if you do not live in a starkly transitional climate, this a great time to think about ... Read More

  • "While I appreciate what they (Tegan, Duncan Arnot-Meyers) are trying to do with Trousseau you just can't beat Jura.""That is where the Trousseau grape originated. I have not had it from anywhere else but it is a comparitively rare variety." It's more than that. Very close relative to chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc. Has hundreds of years of cu... Read More

  • Thought I'd start a topic to see what "different" wines people are drinking. I've been on a hunt to find wines made from lesser known grapes or from unusual areas. Here's one of each. This is a rose made from Cinsault, not too unusual right? Well this is from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. Either they don't make very good wine in Lebanon or this bo... Read More

  • Hello David, here's my two cents worth.  Looking at fairly available Pinots and Chards that are in your price range, are fairly reliable and pretty decent quality for the price, I'd go with a Rodney Strong Chalk Hill Chardonnay and an A to Z pinot. As an alternative, M. Chapoutier makes a very nice white (Belleruche Cotes Du Rhone Blanc) and red... Read More

  • Hello fellow wine lovers! I am new to the snooth community, but am finding this platform to be a great place to research wines, as well as read helpful reviews. As an avid wine drinker, I am always interested in hearing other people's wine reviews, and I was wondering if some would help me with my search.  This year, my wife and I are hosting th... • Sturgeon have swum the Bordeaux river basin as long as Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon  and Muscadelle have rooted down the region’s vineyards. They make an excellent pairing, yet this duo has long been overlooked.Even taken separately, this is true. Magret de canard and foie gras are de riguer at the Bordelais table. Though Bordeaux is nestled betwee... Read More

  • Hello,I have enjoyed wine for many years casually, but I now want to take it up a notch with and improve my palette and knowledge of wine. I enjoy wine tasting in the Sacramento region of California and prefer red wines, but whites are good too in the summer. Unfortunately I don't have very many friends who share my enthusiasm with wine, but I h... • A ridiculous number of trigger pullworthies in this new offering, many in their absolute drinking prime. Wish the shop was just down the street from me, rather than the ones that are. But then I'd have to live in NYC.  ;-(I love it when a guy drops 100 cases on a shop, just to 'make some space" in his cellar. Wonder what's going to be filling th... Read More
