Blanc & Rouge is a wine shop that has been serving the historic neighborhood of Dumbo, in Brooklyn, New York, since 2000. The name is French, in honor of the founder's nationality and passion, but the stock is international, covering all major wine producing regions. We have over 150 wines that retail for $15 or less. Although our shop features every-day values, our e-commerce business focuses on the rare and hard to find. We know that these wines require great care. We buy our rare wines only from reliable sources, and only if we are assured that the provenance is good. Many of our rare wines were purchased on release. All rare wines are stored on premises at perfect cellar temperature.

  • A ridiculous number of trigger pullworthies in this new offering, many in their absolute drinking prime. Wish the shop was just down the street from me, rather than the ones that are. But then I'd have to live in NYC.  ;-(I love it when a guy drops 100 cases on a shop, just to 'make some space" in his cellar. Wonder what's going to be filling th... Read More

  • Who needs CA? Just too hard to source over here, and waaaay too pricey.  ;-(    Yeah, I know, sounds like sour grapes ...  The kinds of offerings below, though, are every bit as interesting, and at very reasonable prices when I can chase the bottles down. Just using these as illustrative examples, for there are plenty more. Notes from Jancis Rob... Read More

  • BB, I know I speak for the group when I say we all had a great time the other night! We started the evening off at the Cork & Cask wine bar in Cornelius with some charcuterie and a couple bottles of Louis Latour Macon-Lugny.  Very nice burgundian unoaked chardonnay, not overly complex but light, crisp, flinty with some hints of soft lemon cream.W... Any help would be appreciated, and it would be great to meet Snoothers from that neighborhood. -Bob1) Are there any BYOB restaurants in Charlotte?2) If so, what... Read More

  • Greetings!I share an article I had published in Harpers Wine & Spirit (UK) based on two tastings earlier this month in Washington DC.2013 looks to be an, er, difficult vintage. But as some of the 11s proved, one can find a few bright spots. Will prices come down far enough to garner any interest?I will head to Bordeaux for the barrel tastings in... Read More
