Blanc & Rouge is a wine shop that has been serving the historic neighborhood of Dumbo, in Brooklyn, New York, since 2000. The name is French, in honor of the founder's nationality and passion, but the stock is international, covering all major wine producing regions. We have over 150 wines that retail for $15 or less. Although our shop features every-day values, our e-commerce business focuses on the rare and hard to find. We know that these wines require great care. We buy our rare wines only from reliable sources, and only if we are assured that the provenance is good. Many of our rare wines were purchased on release. All rare wines are stored on premises at perfect cellar temperature.

  • I'm in a rut? So the Marsannay Blanc was pretty good, but the Marsannay rouge Clos du Roy (could be promoted to a 1er soon) was really rocking. Full bunches of stems, good ripe raspberry fruit, freshness to spare, just a hint of cola but I can look past that, and it gives this good crossover appeal. Really good, chalky tannins. I hope there's mo... Read More

  • David Girard Vineyards Coda Rouge El Dorado 2012

    Snoothrank:

Beautiful and spicy red fruit aromas leap out of the glass with baking spice, raspberry and licorice framed by touches of soft clay and powdered sugar. Gorgeous in the mouth and quite delicate on entry, this starts out soft, round and full of cherry and raspberry notes, then takes on a bit of an edge, showing tart strawberry, spice, cinnamon and... • On and off with differing frequency mention is made on these boards of garnacha as a choice for certain palates, and in certain contexts. Most of the mention here is pretty generic, and doesn't get down to any level of detail.Would like to suggest we take up the subject of wines from this grape with better focus. Where is good, who makes the goo... Read More

  • Unless you bought them with aging potential in mind, a fair few of your 2013 pink and white wines won’t be drinkable by next spring. Guzzle down the last of those quick-to-turn bottles, cellar a few others, and ready yourself for the onset of fall wines. Even if you do not live in a starkly transitional climate, this a great time to think about ... Read More

  • Thought I'd start a topic to see what "different" wines people are drinking. I've been on a hunt to find wines made from lesser known grapes or from unusual areas. Here's one of each. This is a rose made from Cinsault, not too unusual right? Well this is from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. Either they don't make very good wine in Lebanon or this bo... Read More
