We opened our doors in 2003. We have over 5400 square feet of wine inventory. We carry over 2500 different wines in-stock at any time. We have an extensive collection of hard-to-find collectible wines. All of our wines are stored either cork down or on their sides to prevent the corks from drying out. No sunlight ever disturbs our wines. Our overhead lighting system utilizes UV filters to protect the wines. We are “Green” with our shipping methods – no foam Our store really exists! We are not an internet-only-store that sells out of a distributors “book”. Distributors sell wine so fast that you can’t rely on their books, yet some “stores” will advertise everything a distributor has listed – only to tell you later the item is “sold out." This can be very frustrating for the buyer and really gives our industry a black eye. Our inventory is real. We don’t play games with having you order wines we don’t have. • Howdy, folks.  I have access to very well preserved mid-90s Mondavi reserve cabs. I have been eyeing them for a while and wondered if anyone here has opened them recently and cared to share their thoughts on whether they are worth the $100 or so it would cost to acquire them. Thanks in advance. • Wanting to refresh my memory on certain French vintages in the Rhône Valley I came across (as I often do) the Robert Parker Vintage Chart.  Parker includes vintages from 1970 through 2010 on his website and scores them on the usual 100 point scale.  He claims that scores of 70-79 are "average" while those of 80-89 are "above average to excellent... • Sadly I did Not. I had a busy weekend that involved wine, but sadly that was mostly inventorying, packing, and moving wine around the state of NY! Got about a dozen cases moved closer to home, so now I'm pretty well set for the next few months of drinking! Next bottle up looks like it might very well be 1987 Dunn Napa Valley. Funny how Dunn was ... Read More

  • Read a snipet in Decanter magazine recently stating that the production of Italian Prosecco will grow five fold in the next two decades, doubling in the next two years according to producer Bisol. The US apparently can't get enough with sales of 2.3m bottles in 2010.I must admit there is a big promotion here in th UK for Prosecco at the moment, ... Read More

  • I recently heard that in addition to its contribution to the flavor and complexity of wines, that oak was also an effective anti-oxidant, helping the wine to age gracefully for longer periods of time. Also, that sediment in older wines had to do with the oak.It prompted me to search for some additional articles or info on oak. Found this random ... Read More

  • Hi all.  I always get interested when people start talking about inexpensive wines that they like.  And it seems like something lots of us are on the hunt for: that elusive butterfly of delicious wine at a wild bargain.  There are other threads on this topic, but I thought the time might be ripe for a fresh one.At the same time, I sometimes feel...
