We opened our doors in 2003. We have over 5400 square feet of wine inventory. We carry over 2500 different wines in-stock at any time. We have an extensive collection of hard-to-find collectible wines. All of our wines are stored either cork down or on their sides to prevent the corks from drying out. No sunlight ever disturbs our wines. Our overhead lighting system utilizes UV filters to protect the wines. We are “Green” with our shipping methods – no foam Our store really exists! We are not an internet-only-store that sells out of a distributors “book”. Distributors sell wine so fast that you can’t rely on their books, yet some “stores” will advertise everything a distributor has listed – only to tell you later the item is “sold out." This can be very frustrating for the buyer and really gives our industry a black eye. Our inventory is real. We don’t play games with having you order wines we don’t have. • Hi, I am an accidental wine enthusiast. As part of a major remodeling project including our family room I revived my interest and enjoyment of wine. Our family room was redone using dark hickory planking and the room has a short wall next to our fireplace. This wall has always presented a challenge to make use of the space. I researched and sear... Read More

  • Our friend, Outthere, has made us aware of the Historic Vineyard Society, and I, personally, have enjoyed reading about his experiences with the society, and his interactions with some of the producers who source from these vineyards.  Yesterday, Mrs. Emark handed me an article entitled "The Battle for America's Oldest Vines" that she had clippe... • I did some random research today, or just internet wine travels that somehow led me to Valtellina, a place that I might have briefly heard about in the past but didn't really resonate. Anyway, it's a very cool climate, with some of the best wines grown in high altitudes that are run by families, not corporations. As far as producers go, one that... Read More

  • So we have some interest in having a West Coast meet-up (or you can call it a throw-down) for Pinot.  Here's my opening proposal:  We'll do it very close to the Oakland Airport, to save those who are traveling in from out of town (like Emark and JonDerry) from having extra travel if they want to fly.  This would give LuchaVino a chance to attend... • I am pretty much prejudiced towards red wines.  However, that does not mean that I drink them exclusively.  I do drink quite a bit of white wine.  Probably, because, like most Americans my age, we are encouraged to bias out protein input away from red meats.  The good news for me is that I do love seafood and chicken.  So, that is really not a s... • I'm making a lasagne bolognese for a dinner party (the whole deal from scratch, including pasta) and I want to get an interesting Italian red to pair with it. I'd love to get a Barolo but the cost is a bit prohibitive...I'm like to keep it at about 15 a bottle or less. Also maybe a light Italian white to have with appetizers. Unfortunately I live...
