  • Adelaida Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

    Snoothrank:

Adelaida Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve, an Excellent Paso Cab. Just the right amount of dark berry, tobacco, medium tannin and alcohol. The combination was very well balanced and extremely enjoyable. Read More

  • Adelaida Version Red 2008

    Snoothrank:

Excellent red blend from Paso Robles. Dark red cherry, plum, tobacco and a bit of spice. Nice acidity, a bit of earthiness and a long finish. Had this 2008 along side the 2010 and 2009 and this was my favorite. Read More

  • Adelaida Version Red Paso Robles Anna's Vineyard 2009

    Snoothrank:

Very nice red blend from Paso Robles. Dark red cherry, plum and a bit of spice. Not much acidity, a little flabby but a fairly long finish. Had this 2009 along side the 2010 and 2008 and this was the least favorite but on its own still an excellent wine. Read More

  • Adelaida Version Red Paso Robles Anna's Vineyard 2010

    Snoothrank:

Fantastic red blend from Paso Robles. Fresh, crisp, great balance, some bright red cherry and dark cherry, plum and a bit of spice. Very nice acidity and a fairly long finish. Had this 2010 along side the 2009 and 2008 and this was noticeably younger and brighter. Read More

  • Adelaida Inventor 2008

    Snoothrank:

Big rich red Paso blend. The syrah comes through on the nose but the cab dominates on the palate. Loads of dark fruit, nice chewy tannins, long finish and lots of layers. This is an excellent wine. 2008 vintage. Read More

  • Adelaida Chardonnay Hmr Estate 2011

    Snoothrank:

Great Paso chardonnay for a region not known for producing cooler climate wines. More of a California flavor profile with a fairly rich body, hints of oak, spice, subtle creme brulee, lemon zest and a touch of acidity. Not overly oaked or buttery but a nicely balanced chard with lots of nice citrus and honey in a well balanced package. Read More

  • France may have established that the grapes of Bordeaux go very well together, ... who bought their property in Adelaida Valley in 1981, but the winery is now owned by Roll Global. Their primary focus is on the Bordeaux varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. My favorite of their lineup has always been the Isoceles, which usua... Read More

  • Adelaida Methode Champenoise Blanc de Blancs 1984

    Snoothrank:

I had this last night. I am trying to make space in my storage cellar and pulled this out. After more than 25 years, it was not bad. The big negative was that the effervescence was very much diminished. So, it is now a slighty fizzy still wine. As such it was perfectly drinkable--still has some of the yeast and mineral flavors that I expect... Read More

  • In years gone by I have drunk a lot of Zin, but it is almost always consumed within 2-3 years of the harvest.  I have let some high alcohol zins (specifically Opolo Mt Zin) go for 4 years and they had turned flabby and off tasting.  Last night I came across a bottle of Seghesio Sonoma 2007, which is their cheapest and simplest zin, and had it.  ...
