  • Hi, My name is Chris Cooper from New York and I'm a little new to Wine. I just joined a Wine Club and Order 12 bottles of Wine.  I drink wine on  major holidays. I joined this Snooth Forum to learn more about wine and get a better idea of all the different variety's of wine there is out there. If anyone knows  any recommendations of red wine tha... Read More

  • http://www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/123067That makes it easier for everyone to follow.  Here's a picture:A story about a wine from same maker that I didn't buy.  I went for a haircut the other day--I know, if you've seen me lately, hardly seems necessary.  After hanging out with my barber, which is what I'm paying for, I decided to go to C... • Reading Judt's "Postwar" right now and it makes me want to read a really good biography of Tito and a history of Yugoslavia. Macedonia is interesting because there's the Greek and the Yugoslav histories.  Tito got in trouble with Stalin for wanting to expand into Greek Macedonia--among other things.  I am friends with a Macedonian family whose l... • Cockburns Fine Ruby Port NV

    Snoothrank:

Picked this up at Stone Face Package Liquors Store. Nice little number. Opens with perfume, spice, and vanilla. More viscous mouth feel, almost like diluted honey. Long finish of golden raisin, pepper, and vanilla. I think a bit better than the Taylor Fladgate Fine Ruby Porto which I tasted along side this. Very, very well priced for this quality. Read More

  • Hello all!Put together a nice little timeline of photo's from over the past several weeks in Sonoma County. I really do love Harvest time each year. Obviously in CA everyone is freaking out a little at the prospect of being fined, so I enjoy my new title of 'intern' for a couple of weeks to make sure safety is a must. http://www.britwit.co/britw... • As a person who loves and frequently enjoys wine, I have been very disturbed lately by world, and various govt agencies, calling all ETOH consumption, including wine, to be "deadly", for the most part.    I have posted on this before, citing an article wherein the WHO called ethanol a major carcinogen.  While most just ignore this hype and move ... • Thanks for the tips. GREGT,I like fruity. Honestly, I haven't had much wine. I think Yellowtail had a rose called Pink at some point (All I remember is it was pink and it had that Kangaroo on the label) and I liked it ok. I am not partial, at this point, to the heavy alcohol taste. I'm not looking for sweet necessarily, just something with great... Read More

  • I am a new wine lover. A year or two ago I was having troubles staying away from 'the sauce'.  It wasn't alcoholism, per se, but it was getting to the point where I was spending much of my money and getting very little done. So, being that I am working in a fine dining restaurant, Carnevor Steakhouse in Milwaukee, WI, I decided to begin studying... Read More
