Oregon Wine

The history of Oregon wine-making dates back to the mid 1800s. Horticulturalist Henderson Luelling is credited with planting the first grapes in 1847 in Willamette Valley. His son-in-law, William Meek, won a medal in the 1859 California State Fair for wines made from the Isabella grape (an American hybrid). • Yamhill Valley Reisling 2007

    Snoothrank:

This wine displays bright flavors of citrus and grape must. Secondary flavors of slate and petrol contrast this wine's late harvest attitude. It's somewhat candied and sweet smelling with a touch of concentrated watermelon and coconut adding a tropical, summery tone to the weighty, slightly hot winter spice. Big and bold on the attack with lots of alcohol and spice covering the rather dark, tarry fruit tones. Heat is al... Read More
