Oregon; Washington Wine

Columbia Valley, Willamette, Red Mountain, Yamhill, Yakima, Champoux, Klipsun, Ciel, Eola Hills, Walla Walla--these are names recognized for luscious wines rich in fruit, lower in acidity, and lovely in balance. Since land is less expensive, expect more wine for a dollar spent than for counterparts from California. Long Shadows wines, Col Solare and Ethos, all Washington-outside expert collaborations, offer some prime examples of NW wines at their best. – Description from easterner1

  • Kramer Vineyards Pinot Noir Rose 2013

    Snoothrank:

Very satisfying sparkler from one of Willamette's oldest wineries. Pink rose color with wild strawberry, tart cherry, decent acidity and a medium finish. This is not real dry but not sweet either, it walks a fine line between both, quite enjoyable. Read More

  • This is an interesting story with a happy ending.  We ordered three bottles of wine from Domaine Serene a while back and it arrived last Friday at the local FedEx.  I picked it up and opened the box - set the bottles in our wine racks and tossed the box.  A few days later Sandra realized that they shipped the wrong wine - we got a Pinot Noir fro... • Yep. It would be really interesting to see some kind of notification when the OP checks back in a thread like this, or the fortified wine thread, or many others over the years. But Emark - I understand your thinking and have a suggestion. Is it a patriotic stand or just geographic convenience?Just curious, and a little jealous." I don't usually post the wines I drink in this thread, nor do another regular or two, but I do not drink a fraction of the CA wines that are drunk by those who do post here. • Has anyone tried Buty's Semillion-Sauvignon-Muscadelle blend (2008)? If you can find it, give it a shot. I haven't had a better white from the Pacific Northwest.
