Clarksburg is an emerging wine region within the Central Valley district of California. It actually spans parts of three counties: Yolo, Sacramento and Solana. The fertile area benefits from cool, coastal winds and fog off the San Francisco Bay and rich soil, slow draining soil. 
It’s a relatively new wine region, reaching AVA status in 1984. Most of the grapes grown in the region are sold to outside facilities for blends. But it is still known for its Petite Syrah, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. ~Amanda Schuster
