Sutter County Wine

Sutter County is an unofficial wine-making zone (meaning no AVA as yet) within the Sacramento Valley, all a part of California’s Central Valley. This is the northern section of the valley, which is very warm and dry. Typically, the most common grape found in this part of California is Zinfandel, with Chardonnay for whites. Despite the heat, producers often work with popular Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
