The Green Valley AVA is in the west corner of the Russian River Valley in Sonoma, in California’s North Coast. Due to its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, it’s prone to dense fog and cool temperatures, but these factors ensure a long growing season with balanced acidity and proper ripening in the grapes.

  • Iron Horse Vineyards Ocean Reserve Blanc de Blancs 2010

Enjoyable bubbles from Russian River's Iron Horse. Crisp, lemon pith, good acidity, some nice biscuity/yeasty flavor and a fairly long finish. One thing a bit different is a very noticeable saltiness that comes out on the finish, not bad, just different. Read More

  • Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay Russian River Valley Rued Vineyard 2010

Liemon, honeydew, hints of lime, toast and cream. Excellent mouthfeel with nicely balanced acidity. Few of these flavors overlap, instead they occur in a horizontal form, one after the other - quite exquisite. Read More

Just a fantastic California sparkler. Tight bubbles, somewhat dry on the sides but a bit of residual on the back of the tongue. This is pale pink in color with a bit of yeast on the nose. Read More
