San Joaquin County Wine

for this region?

The Central Valley wine region of California is located east of the San Francisco Bay area, running south through the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys to Bakersfield. It is within these valleys, and the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta where they meet in between, where viticulture takes place.

The hot, dry conditions of the region are prone to high yields, which is how this region became the center of California’s bulk wine production. But within some of the Valley’s subregions, a growing number of high quality wines are also in production.

Central Vallley is divided into the following subregions:
Diablo County
Fresno County
Lodi
Madera
River Junction
Tracy Hills
Yolo County

  • Klinker Brick Albarino 2014

    Snoothrank:

Not bad but not great Albarino from Klinker Brick. Flavors of apricot, ripe pear and honeysuckle go along with medium acidity, slightly flabby, viscuous texture (a touch of residual sugar?) and a medium short finish. Read More

    Snoothrank:

Nectarine and elderflower aromas are inviting and have a hint of spice to them. Juicy and fresh in the mouth, with peach and melon notes, some toast and burnt caramel in the midpalate, some vanilla towards the finish where it turns towards a bright and fresh palate decked with peach and a refreshing minerality. • Oak Farm Vineyards Verdelho Lodi 2014

    Snoothrank:

The bright lemon and stone fruit aromas are quite lovely with notes of peach, green apple and nectarine. In the mouth it's full flavored with an emollient mouthfeel, somewhat tart and lemony but with a leesy toast character, peach and more floral notes of honeysuckle and elderflower. White pepper and almond notes add some complexity and spice to... Read More
