for this region?

The Central Valley wine region of California is located east of the San Francisco Bay area, running south through the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys to Bakersfield. It is within these valleys, and the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta where they meet in between, where viticulture takes place.

The hot, dry conditions of the region are prone to high yields, which is how this region became the center of California’s bulk wine production. But within some of the Valley’s subregions, a growing number of high quality wines are also in production.

Central Vallley is divided into the following subregions:
Diablo County
Fresno County
Lodi
Madera
River Junction
Tracy Hills
Yolo County

  • Karen Birmingham Sauvignon Blanc 2015

    Snoothrank:

Super refreshing with beautiful floral and grapefruit notes on the nose with a slight hint of fresh hay. On the palate I get grapefruit, bitter orange, and fresh green melon. Really nice mouth feel and body. Read More

  • Oak Farm Vineyards Barbera Lodi 2013

    Snoothrank:

This is a bold and aromatic wine with floral notes of violet and rose petal, rich red currant and strawberry fruit and a touch of earth. Dried fig and prune on the nose frames the more fresh fruit flavors of mixed berry and raspberry preserves, soft baking spice coming through towards the finish with delicate structure and a good dose of smoky e... Probably the best Cabernet Sauvignon I've ever had. I was at a yacht club and when I had this for the first time, I had to find out what it was ASAP! My friends have spent over $50 on fancy bottles of Cabernet for special occasions (forgot the names) and this one definitely takes the throne. I only paid 12$ for this bottle and they can definitel... Read More
