San Joaquin County Wine

for this region?

The Central Valley wine region of California is located east of the San Francisco Bay area, running south through the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys to Bakersfield. It is within these valleys, and the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta where they meet in between, where viticulture takes place.

The hot, dry conditions of the region are prone to high yields, which is how this region became the center of California’s bulk wine production. But within some of the Valley’s subregions, a growing number of high quality wines are also in production.

Central Vallley is divided into the following subregions:
Diablo County
Fresno County
Lodi
Madera
River Junction
Tracy Hills
Yolo County

  • Peirano Estate Vineyards The Other Red Blend Lodi 2014

    Snoothrank:

Savory and fruity aromas of dark baking spice, raspberry and strawberry with notes of blossom, fresh dewy earth and a touch of cherry. Well integrated palate with harmonious red fruit notes of ripe cherry, raspberry and red currant, a bit tart but easy drinking and approachable with soft tannins and a violet, blueberry finish with good balance. Not bad for $10 bottle of PS. Plenty of fruit, filling but not intense, oak, medium tannins and good acidity with a slightly sweet flowing finish. This would be good at the grill or with pizza. Drink now. Paul 67 points Read More

Good, but a softer version of most, raspberry, some dark berry fruits, medium chewy tannins but they over balanced the acidity a little. Some chocolate notes and a little dark cherry on the finish. Drink now - Paul 85 pts Read More
