North Coast Wine

The North Coast AVA is a region that spans eight counties and dozens of prestigious subregions within California. The Pacific Ocean creates cooling air and fog conditions that benefit quality grapegrowing. Most of the wines produced in the area use their own subregion on the label, so wines labeled North Coast are often ones made with a blend of grapes from different parts of the region.

The North Coast is further subdivided into the following regions:
Humboldt County
Lake County
Marin County
Mendocino County
Napa County
Sonoma County
Solano County
Trinity County

  • St. Supéry Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

    Snoothrank:

This Cab is deep dark and vibrant. It has immediate intense aromas of sweet juicy black cherries and bitter chocolate with a slight peppery slap on the nose. On the palate it explodes with fruits of overripe berries and plum. There is a mild sweetness that lingers with a fullness that never wants to end. This wine is rich and wonderfully mor... Read More

  • Capture Sauvignon Blanc California Tradition 2011

    Snoothrank:

The 2012 Sauvignon Blanc Les Pionnieres is 100% Sauvignon Blanc and has been aged in stainless steel for five months. Pale gold in color, the aroma is thick and heady at first but that quickly goes away and in comes aromas of honeydew melon, apricot and lemon. On the palate it tickles the tongue a little with zesty citrus fruits of lemon, grap... Read More

  • William Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2012

A newcomer from Gallo Wines, the William Hill Estates Sauvignon Blanc has a calming light Sea foam green hue. There are instant and startling aromas of citrus fruits and apricot on the nose. Powerfully sharp on the tongue with tastes of ripe red grapefruit, kiwi and cantaloupe. A slight effervescence tingles the tongue with a delightful danc... Read More
