These conditions are ideal for the so-called cool climate grapes of Burgundy. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay rule the roost here yielding ripe yet balanced wines with fresh acidity and a round, friendly feel. Merlot is a distant third, though the cool, crisp quality of the fruit can produce attractively elegant examples and an excellent structural component for blending. • Neyers Chardonnay Carneros 2010

    Snoothrank:

A very big buttery chard. Nice straw color. On the nose a hint of grapefruit!, some vanilla and a hint of oak. The legs are slow. On the palate again some grapefruit with a hint of lemon, some nice vanilla with ever so slight touch of oak. The rather high alcohol content never shows through all these wonderful flavors. I savor the medium to long... Read More
