  • Sounds like a great trip.  I'm glad you managed to stop at Silver Oak and Caymus, two of my favorites.  Looking forward to seeing pictures.  Did you join any wine clubs while visiting and tasting wines?  I think we belong to around eight, all but one are on the west coast.   Read More

We didn't eat out much (lots of picnics here and there), but Villa Corona in St Helena was ok Mexican that hit the spot In fact, the gelatto next door was delicious (St Helena Bistro).Ciccio's in Yountville was better, that I recommend. Apart from that we had Pho in San Fran, which tends to be good. • Haha... "fortuna" is not that abundant on my end (although I do consider myself fortunate in other areas), so I am taking a more frugal approach: cheap hotel, affordable food, spend the little money I do have in tastings and wine.I learned now that the weather will be colder than New York and even rainy one of the days! Whatever will I do on a r... Read More

  • Unless you are incredibly lacking fortuna, you will find very good wine at most properties.  I think the enjoyment is in the exploration and the beautiful Mediterranean scenery.  As you have not visited Napa-Sonoma before, you are in for a treat.  Even the coffee and the local produce is good.  People live here for lifestyle and it shows... all ...
