Atlas Peak on Snooth

The usual cab nose. Complex, velvety, smooth. Flat out good wine. Age should improve it more. -Tasted at the winery 9/19/09.

Atlas Peak Winery Claret 2004

Starting at $69.64 Snoothrank: 4/5

Nose of dark chocolate and Chambord. A bigger glass and swirling made big changes. Air did wonders. -Tasted at the winery 9/19/09.

Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2004

Starting at $76.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Overripe nose. Lots of spice, lavendar and sage. A bit herbal and spicy for my taste in a cab. -Tasted at the winery 9/19/09.

Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder 2004

Starting at $72.89 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Odd nose. Good palate though. -Tasted at the winery 9/19/09.

Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2004

Starting at $29.95 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

You can taste Atlas Peak at Buena Vista Carneros Winery in Sonoma ( http://buenavistacarneros.com ). Same corporate owners. That's where we pick up our Atlas Peak wine club selections. Buena Vista does not promote Atlas Peak. To taste, go to the far end of the tasting bar. They have a small tasting room that looks like it's set aside for Atlas Peak tastings. I think you have to call for reservations or Atlas Peak schedule to taste in that room.
Atlas Peak does not have public tastings because the winery is up a very narrow road that's unfit for public travel. Atlas Peak wined and dined us their. They bussed us there. Great wine, caves and vista. If offered, don't pass up an opportunity to visit.

Honda, yea Kaz was there. We loved his wines and had a great time hanging out ... one night and had a cab from Atlas Peak. We were disappointed to see that they did not have a public tasting room, but were pleasantly...
