Read moreBeautiful wine - a little harsh on the nose (pepper/spice a bit over done)so a bit too peppery and spicy for my Zinfandel taste - a little more fruit on the nose for me is better - excellent finish and good drinking wine - 90 pts....not exactly but a great Zin with lots of potential - tried it twice over 7 months and it did get better - a little more age and maybe 90 pts it will earn.   yeasty biscuits, a little honeysuckle and floral aromas as well. Citrus fruits on the palate with some toasty notes and nice acidity. A sharp slightly bitter cheese with grassy and woodsy characteristics, a little tangy and pungent in taste...at times a little too overpowering for the champagne. Next time I would go for something a little more softer. thoroughly enjoyed the sparkling on its own!    (hide)

  Leese-Fitch Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

  filled with aromas of blackberries, black plums and dark currents. very fruit forward on the palate, classic components of a CA cab, a round tannic structure and finish, very drinkable and of a great value

  Aromas of citrus, stone fruit, white flowers and lean mineral flavors round out this medium weight wine. Expect taut, crisp flavors... refreshing. Try it with fish and chips.

  Frias Family Vineyard Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

  Bought at Vintage 1870 Wine Cellar in Yountville ~2000. $62.50 Saved it too long. Opened Nov '09, little fruit, still tannin, almost harsh, wife felt it was smooth?? Ok with food, have younger vintages and will open soon.

  Lancaster Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

  Snoothrank:

  Light red in appearance almost ruby in color. Hints of caramel, vanilla, and smoke on the nose. Delicious fruit flavors from plum up front to a subtle currant towards the end. Very well balanced and tasting excellent right now (10/09)
