I think I agree it's not what else so much as who else. Speaking of malbec, ... fortified wines from Uruguay and I kind of like those because they also add spices and herbs and flavorings. But I suppose if you want...
Grape variety a cross of Cabernet Sauvignon and grenache. This wine had been oak aged for 3 months. Deep red colour. A nose of red berries, mint and eucalyptus.Very unusual intense with a long finish.
Pale yellow with essences of exotic mixed fruits small production very special and unusual wine.Absolutely delicious
A super Tuscan originally was a wine from Tuscany that fell outside of the laws governing wine production. the first two reasons for creating a Super Tuscan both revolved around the grapes in the blend. This ultimately...
Purpleteeth - Thanks for the recommendations. That's exactly what I was fishing for in this forum. As for your 1st listing, is that Feudi di San Marzano SUD Primitivo? The Rivera Triusco is on my shopping list for my...
... of the signature grapes of Uruguay, responsible for about a third of the wine produced in that country...look for great stuff from Don Prospero, Omar Perco, and Bouza. Most interestingly of all - to me, anyway -...
Check out Feudo San Marzano SUD Primitivo, the 07 vintage is not bad. Pretty jammy and chewy, with a fair amount of spice. Also Cantele isn't bad for the money. A bit darker, and milder with more black fruit showing...
You've had tannat from Argentina? There aren't many. I had four yesterday and ... blend. There are some from Uruguay that are increasingly better, but it's a relatively new phenomenon in Argentina, where it shows some...
Without doubt... One glass everyday... What a medicine! You can also eat some fruit like orange or peach in order to get Vitamin C and you will have a strong inmune system...
Uruguay grows more Tannat than anywhere else. The Tannat grape contains more oligomeric procyanidins (OPCs) than any other grape variety.
Recent research, led by Dr. Roger Corder (a cardiovascular expert at the William Harvey Research Institute in London) makes the case for oligomeric procyanidins (OPCs) as the source of red wine's health benefits. All red grapes, particularly those with thick skins and high skin-to-pulp ratios, contain OPC's. But, after measuring the OPC concentration of several common red wine grapes, Dr. Corder identifies Tannat as the grape with the greatest concentration. The real-life evidence of Tannat's benefits can be seen in the surprisingly long lifespans of residents of the département of Gers in southwest France, whose local wine principal grape is Tannat.
In fact this wine is very good for you.

I just came back from a trip to South America and tasted the Tannat grape for the first time while in Uruguay at a little family owned winery called Bodega Bouza. It was extremely tasty. Aroma contained hints of sweet fruits. I cannot find a place in Canada that imports this wine. Anyone know anywhere in North America to buy Uruguian wine?
