  • Vina Zaco Tempranillo Rioja 2006

    Snoothrank:

Clear and bright...cherries/fruit...crisp...long leathery finish. Not as sour as a chianti, but close. Paired with NY Strip and potato. Had just enough body to cut through. Enjoyed with Frank and David on 11/23/09.

  • From what I have tasted and read, the 2001 and 2004 Tempranillo Riojas are excellent vintages, and these wines in general are known for their ability to age very well. (I have some mid 90's bottles and am told they could last for a good number of years to come.)

  • Don Roman Tinto Rioja 2006

    Snoothrank:

Undrinkable. When first opened the aroma and flavor were dominated by a most unpleasant and excessive earthiness. After letting it breathe for several hours the wine had become cloyingly sweet, followed by overly astringent tannins and closing with the intially noticed but now... Read more
