Robertson is a wine region within the Breede River Valley in South Africa, centered around the town of the same name. An array of terroirs and climates within this district allow a variety of grapes and styles of wine produced. In warm, dryer locations, mainly concentrated styles of red wines are produced, along with some dessert wine from Hanespoot (Muscat) and Muscadelle. Other parts of the region feature vineyards in higher elevations with cooler climate conditions favorable to producing Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay.

The Robertson Wines of Origin (WO) districts are as follows:

*Agterkliphoogte
*Bonnievale
*Boesmansrivier
*Eilandia
*Hoopsrivier
*Klaasvoogds
*Le Chasseur
*McGregor
*Vinkrivier

  • Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

    Snoothrank:

A bit muted on the nose with subtle but attractive aromas of black fruits, violets, woodsmoke, and a hint of mint and rosemary. Big, round and polished in the mouth, this delivers ripe yet fresh black currant and plum fruit gentle framed with clean, fresh oak. The balance is attractive for a wine of this size, smooth yet firm enough though allow... Read More
