Martinborough is a small town and wine region within the Wairarapa district of New Zealand’s North Island. It’s located a small distance from the capital city of Wellington, and noted for its premium boutique wineries.

The region benefits from free-draining alluvial soils, long sunny days, cool nights and minimal rainfall, which create the perfect conditions for well balanced, character-driven grapes. Pinot Noir is the standout varietal, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer also grown.

This one is considered to be a premium NZ sauvignon blanc, I was looking forward to trying this one. Crisp and aromatic nose, with lots of citrus notes along with some grassy and nectarine notes.
