Darker, meatier, a bit more herb and earth, nice fine sage edge, pretty ripe feeling ripe tannins, savory and yet sweet at its core, very light on the palate even if this shows impressively ripe flavors, decent length, turns rather strawberries and strawberry seeds on the finish, quite varietal, definitely turns lighter and brighter on the palat... Lovely, earthy, herbal, wiry toasted spice nose, green and ripe, strawberry tops. Bright and vivid in the mouth, very spicy herbal quality, plenty of sage, soft ripe tannins, integrated acids, finishes a touch short but still aromatic, spicy, green peppercorn. Read More

Tight. Fine, perfumed, a bit of obvious oak, very focused nose, fine dried herbs, almost a touch of lavender, tender one try, silky, fairly rich background note of blackberry, black raspberry, bit of mint, supple tannins, bright, firm classy finish, long fresh black raspberry fruit finish, very Burgundian bit of licorice on finish. This is low and tight on the nose with slow to emerge notes of almond husk, dried apple fruit and a touch of toffee. The aromas are gentle but distinct and well-balanced, lending this a fine, elegant feel. In the mouth this is bright with real verve and energy. The oak is prominent but well integrated, with fruit that remains very much in the ci... Read More

Pretty full barrel fermented nose here with lots of fresh oak-derived aromas accenting slightly roasted apple fruit. This is a touch a buttermilky in the mouth with an opulent, soft texture and a supple easy character. Notes of toasted bread dough on the mid-palate add some complexity that builds with layers of lime oil and red apple fruit on th... Read More

Waxy yellow apple aromas emerge over toasty, vanilla cream and lightly gingery base notes. On the palate this is bright and intense with ripe fruit, but at the same time light and focused. This does turn a little creamy on back end, but the wildly bright and vibrant nature of this is fleshed out a bit by the creaminess. This finishes with long, ... Read More

This wine has good fruit aromas, in the range of what one would expect of a dry Riesling. Same with the taste. The components seem to be there, but, to me it falls flat of it's comrades (and competitors) in similar regions in Alsace, Germany, and Austria. Not as crisp as I would expect in the price range.
