  • Havens Wine Cellars Syrah Carneros 2004

    Snoothrank:

Did not expect this syrah to be so youthful. Beautiful dark red color. Nice black pepper on the tongue along with medium tannins.A nice medium finish. Lots of dried dark fruits. All in all this wine was a pleasant surprise and has many more years to go. Read More

  • Abrente Napa Valley Albarino 2014

    Snoothrank:

Really excellent Carneros albarino from Bedrock/Abrente. There's some salinity that goes along with the lemon zest, mouth watering acidity, key lime pie, a hint of hazelnut and a bit of apricot. The finish is medium long. I'm guessing folks are drinking this too cold, it significantly improved as it warmed up in the glass. Read More

  • Schug Chardonnay Carneros 2013

    Snoothrank:

Red apple and lemon curd notes on the nose with cream and peach. Tart lemon notes on the palate, somewhat restrained in flavor but bursting with acidity, this shows a touch of peach and a white blossom note towards the finish. Read More

  • Ramey Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay 2012

    Snoothrank:

Bright nose of tart green apple, some vanilla. Green apple very up front on entry along with some tropical fruit and melon flavor. A bit of oaky bitteriness. Nice tart acid. A back-of-the-palate sensation that makes me think clovealthough, it certainly does not taste like clove. Read More

  • Hard to say what it exactly is, but we've all had moments when wines were really open and "singing" maybe after a quick decant, or hours of air, they just started to open and catch fire. I can think of quite a few wines that stick out in this way, though it seems like a very unpredictable phenomenon. Also, what the heck is going on with wines th... Read More

  • Dalia Ceja la Tapatia Chardonnay Carneros 2013

    Snoothrank:

A Naked Wines Selection, but a knock-out. Pale golden yellow in the glass. Opens with a load of Vanilla/Jasmine/Hibiscus, then Blueberry/Vanilla/Cola, and finally, Toffee & Cream on the nose. Most of this moves on to the palate, but after that, some grapefruit and lemon cream. More Oak/Butter/Vanilla than Fruit, but well balanced. Big and full ... Read More

  • Ryme Cellars Vermentino 'His' las Brisas Vineyard Vermentino Carneros. California 2014

    Snoothrank:

The color is very much on the peach side. The nose is over ripe orange/tangerine. The flavors also come out as ripe tangerine, ripe pineapple and orange soda. We only have one bottle so I'll look for others to add their impressions. Seems to be in line with my notes from the 2013 vintage. Read More
