Mount Veeder; Napa on Snooth

  • Lagier Meredith Syrah 2012

    Snoothrank:

Nice, mid-bodied wine. Lean, tart berry fruit. Actually, quite refreshing. Those who need a calendar to decide if they want to drink a red wine--i.e., who distain red wine in the summer--should try this one. Not a big, heavy red. To me the tannin is quite sedate. On the other hand, we'll be grilling a Tri-tip, tonight, and I look forward to... Read More

  • Lagier Meredith Tribidrag 2015

    Snoothrank:

Very pleasant wine. Dark plum color. Some dark fruit on the nose. Subtle blackberry fruit on the tip of the tongue. Some "woodiness" which, to me, is not that unusual in a Zinfandel. Modest, but appreciated, acid and tannin. Fairly lengthy aftertaste. Read More

  • Lagier Meredith Syrah 2014

    Snoothrank:

Big mouth-filling wine. Quite viscous. Some tart cranberry on the tip of the tongue, but, then, it becomes very savory. Drink now or hold. I just don't think you can go wrong with this one. Read More

  • Lagier-Meredith Syrah 2011

    Snoothrank:

Nicely sedate levels of dark fruit on entry. Equally nice levels of structural tannin and acid. Very much full-bodied. Very pleasant, albeit brief, aftertaste. Interestingly, alcohol burn sensation lingers on the tongue for several seconds after swallowing. My little gripe notwithstanding, I think this is a well-made, savory wine that is easy... Read More

  • Lagier Meredith Tribidrag 2014

    Snoothrank:

Very dark purple color. Nose of violets and blueberries. Spritzy entry of tart cherry. Mellows out as it passes back. Now it's like unsweetened plum juice. Moderate tannin. Fairly quick finish. This is an enjyable and interesting wine of subtlety. Read More

  • I made it a whole month without purchasing any wine, at least that I remember, so when this email hit my inbox this morning I just had to. I really enjoy their Zinfandel as it has some very unique qualities that make it stand alone for me. $20/btl was a no brainer decision.Big discounts on full cases of Chester's Anvil winesView this email in yo... • Lagier Meredith Syrah Mt. Veeder 2010

    Snoothrank:

Quite dark purple in the glass. Slightly floral nose, but, really, more dark fruit. Nice hit of tart dark fruit on entry. Not particularly big tannins as the wine passes back, but slightly bitter puckeriness is noticed. Im a bit surprised that the tartness noticed on the tip of the tongue seems to diminish quickly as the wine passes back. Read More
