Valle de Guadalupe on Snooth

  • Malagon Los Sesenta Sangiovese/Nebbiolo 2014

    Snoothrank:

Minty, fruity nose. Initial taste is of not quite ripe fruitplum, peach, green apple. As the wine passes back, there is noticeable tannin, but it is not excessive. It does give the wine a bit of sturdiness. An unfortunate bitterness on the very back of the palate, but, maybe, Im being hypercritical. Surprisingly short finish. Read More

  • Tres Valles Kuwal Baja California 2012

    Snoothrank:

Clear garnet color. Astringent nose with some red berry fruit aroma. On the tongue, light on the red fruit flavor, and very earthy. Very rustic feeling. Slight bitterness on the back of the palate adds to the rustic characterization. Not a sophisticated or complex wine at all, but, all in all, seems like a good match with hamburgers. Read More

  • Vena Cava Big Blend 2012

    Snoothrank:

More blue-purple than red-purple in the glass. Fairly light on the nosesome barnyard hints, some vegetative hints. Under the palate this is a harmless, albeit, non-distinctive wine. Initial tastes are of dried fruitsprunes, raisinswithout the sweetness. An unusual mouth sensationthis wine seems to have the consistency or viscosity of perspir... Read More

  • Went to the winery. Well established Italian winery in Valle de Guadalupe approx. 40 minute drive. Went on a tour of the facility. The staff and the wine are great. I will continue to purchase the wine long after my trip to Ensenada.
