Valdobbiadene, a.k.a. Prosecco Valdobbiadene, refers to wines produced within a specific growing zone within the Prosecco Conegliano-Valdobbiadene region in the Veneto, Italy. Each part of the hypenated name is its own vineyard zone. The wines can be labeled separately denoting origin only from either place, or as the hyphenated name when a blend of fruit from both places. Prosecco from either or both zones is considered the finest quality.

The wines from Valdobbiadene are grown in higher elevations and tend to be more tart and crisp in character. The blend must consist of 85% Prosecco (Glera) grapes with an allowable 15% blend of Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and/or Verdisio. If the latter grape is present in the blend, only a maximum 10% can be added. Wines must be a minimum 10.5% alcohol by volume (ABV).

Valdobbiadene on Snooth

  • Tiamo Procecco

    Snoothrank:

White blossom and potpourri on the very floral nose. Somewhat thin and mellow in the mouth with more floral notes, some mild lemon and a demurringly tart finish that is ever so slightly creamy. Read More

  • Mionetto Prosecco Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Brut NV

    Snoothrank:

Had this again last night with an appetizer. Not bad all. Nice bubbles and a golden yellow color. Quite fruity, with surprisingly to me, notes of apple and orange. Read More

  • Gregoletto Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Tranquilo 2014

    Snoothrank:

Still wine from Prosecco. Lemon and grapefruit aromas with light notes of white peach. Clean and medium bodied, this shows white peack and aprico with medium acidity and notes of lemon and melon. Read More

  • Malibran "Credamora" Col Fondo Valdobbiadene Prosecco 2013

    Snoothrank:

Frizzante style with drawn butter aromas and savory yeast on top of lemon and melon notes. Creamy texture in the mouth with lemon curd and pink grapefruit with bright acidity, staying clean throughout but turning quite soft and almost disappearing on the finish with the slightest hint of fresh melon. • La Marca Prosecco Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene NV

    Snoothrank:

Perfect little non-vintage Prosecco. Full of green apple and under-ripe peach with scents of honey and honeysuckle flower. Medium to soft acidity, but an overall great sipper. Had it with fresh oysters. At the price point, cannot be better. Read More

  • Altaneve Rosé NV

    Snoothrank:

Altaneve Rosé has a wonderful nose of strawberries and earthiness, yet the palate is surprisingly dry and lovely with a round flavor profile. Several notable highlights of the wine are the delicate perlage and clean, smooth finish. Read More

  • Altaneve NV

    Snoothrank:

As you bring a flute of Altaneve to your lips, you sense the delicate undertones of white peach, pear and honeysuckle. From your first sip, the crispness, velvety texture and fine perlage distinguish Altaneve from other sparkling wines. Read More
