Soave Classico are wines that are produced in a specific growing area within the Soave DOC in the Veneto, Italy. Like many of the other pillars of Italian wines such as Chianti, growing regions expanded and Classico zones were delineated to refer to both a DOC’s original (classic) viticultural area, and often its highest quality wines. The zone extends between the town of Soave and Monteforte d’Alpone. 
Like the rest of Soave, Classicos are produced predominately from a minimum 70% Garganega grapes, with the rest Chardonnay and/or Trebbiano di Soave (Verdicchio). Trebbiano Toscano and Pinot Bianco, which were once allowable, have now been banned from the blend due to their inferior qualities.  
The Soave Classico zone also produced Recioto di Soave Classico, the sweet version. But it does not include the spumante version.
