Prosecco di Conegliano is a DOC denoting the growing area subsection of the larger Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG zone in the Veneto, Italy. The wines from this subzone are produced from grapes grown in lower lying areas than in Valdobbiadene. Because these vineyards tend to be warmer, the wines have a fruitier, peachier quality than those produced in higher elevations.

Prosecco is the name given to both the style of the sparkling wine and the grape from which it is made. Though more recently, the varietal is frequently referred to by its nickname Glera to best delineate the two.

  • Candoni Prosecco Brut NV

    Snoothrank:

A hint of almond and yeast on the nose with light honey. Tart lemon and melon notes with puckering acidity and bright flavors with sharp bubbles that melt away towards the midpalate. Comes off clean in the mouth and showing pleasant minerality and finishing with a touch of toasted yeast. Read More

  • Lamarca Prosecco NV

    Snoothrank:

Clean green apple and lemon aromas. A hint of sweetness on the palate, but not quite off-dry, with pronounced notes of peach and melon. A lactic acid note carries a creaminess on the palate that is matched quite well by the medium bubbles, white peach fruit and steely minerality. Towards the finish there's a pleasant biscuity cereal note that li... Read More

  • Lamarca Prosecco NV

    Snoothrank:

This nice little dry Prosecco (not really traditional - but more in the modern vein, it seems) has a good lemon nose and white toast and lemon palate with no bitterness on the finish - which is a pleasant surprise. This is the beer or wines - except from certain select areas (Valdobbiadene, exempli gratia, vinum pucinum Galliae mihi). If you ca... Read More

  • La Marca Prosecco Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene NV

    Snoothrank:

Perfect little non-vintage Prosecco. Full of green apple and under-ripe peach with scents of honey and honeysuckle flower. Medium to soft acidity, but an overall great sipper. Had it with fresh oysters. At the price point, cannot be better. Read More
