for this region?

Chianti Colli Senesi is the largest, and some say the finest, subzone of Chianti in the Tuscany region of central Italy. Surrounding the hills of the Siena province, part of this zone spills into Chianti Classico, which designates both its original vineyard area as well as what is considered its highest quality fruit source. Colli Senesi also extends to San Gimignano, Montepulciano and Montalcino (the latter two being where the other top Tuscan Sangiovese-based wines, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino are produced).

Chianti Colli Senesi is required to have a minimum 75% Sangiovese, which can be blended with Canaiolo, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Merlot. The white grapes Trebbiano and Malvasia have been banned from Chianti blends since 2006.
