  • Berardenga Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva 2007

Dark in the glass. The aroma is slightly tight, a little wound. Red fruits and leather are obvious. On the palate, there is plenty of red berry fruit, medium body and a pleasant bitter black olive component. Balanced and well made. Read More

  • Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico Berardenga 2011

100% Sangiovese Perfumed and floral on the nose, which is filled with aromas of spiced blueberries, minerals, and sweet leather notes. A touch soft, or rather fleshy in the mouth, this is rich with soft, ripe tannins that makes for a bit of a chewy mouthful. Theres plenty of bright cherry and slightly darker berry fruit on the palate that is n... Read More

  • Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico 2010

What a lovely nose, quite herbal, spiky, and complex with a fine blend of dried herbs, hot stones, sweet spices, leather, cranberry and some worcestershire sauce all given added lift by a hint of VA. Sweet yet compact in the mouth with finely ripe but classically angular Sangiovese tannins. With air this gains some weight, and loses a bit of cl... Read More

  • Fattoria di Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva 2009

The nose was thrilling with crushed strawberry, fall leaves, wild herbs and hints of animal musk. On the palate, it was medium-bodied with lush fruit and silky textures contrasting it's broad structure. Flavors of red berry, orange zest, hints of cedar and herbal tea filled the senses. The finish turned dry, yet saturating fruits lingered thro... Read More

  • Fattoria di Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia 2008

The 08 Rancia was unexpectedly open at this young age. The nose showed red berries, cocoa powder and deep floral notes. On the palate, it was open and juicy with red berry fruits. The finish showed more of structure I was expecting. This is a fine example of Rancia that (in this years case) is more open in its youth than the Fontalloro. (Fattori... Read More

  • Fattoria di Felsina Berardenga Maestro Raro Toscan Italy 2006

The nose showed sweet cherry soda, medicinal herbs and coco powder. On the palate, an intense wave of cherry fruit wrapped the senses in sweet tannins, with a hint of savory beef reduction sauce in a full, velvety expression. The finish was gorgeous and haunting as notes of spiced cherry clung to the palate. This wine was pleasing on every level. Read More
