  Torii Mor Gewurztraminer Late Harvest 2005

  This was GREAT. Wish I would have bought more than 1 bottle of it. Purchased at a BevMo in San Diego. 11.6% alcohol 7% residual sugar by weight. Very nice spicy nose (go Gewurtztraminer!) and what a flavor!

  Torii Mor Pinot Gris 2007

  I thought this was lacking a little on it's own, but once again this wine came out when paired with food. We had it with stir fried rice and the fruit really popped out. I think there was some pineapple in there.

It is a very fruit-forward Pinot, as are most in the David Bruce style, but it had the structure to age nicely until 2008 when we drank it. Silky tannins and full of fruit, yet tempered with spice and tobacco. So happy I've got one more bottle of this baby!    (hide)

The bouquet is really creamy and lemony with almost a raw almost almond and mineral touch near the end. Nice gentle acidity that coats my entire palate, leaving a slightly dense creamy apple finish from its time in barrel. I'd be curious how the flavors express themselves in a few years time as they're slightly reserved at the moment. Fun wine!    (hide)

  Quinta de Pacos Alvarinho Vinho Verde Moncao Casa Do Capitao-Mor 2007

  Almost clear wine with a nose that at first is almost transparent, though with ... of lemon. Really want to say more about this wine, but I have a strange feeling that this an example of a VV that could age and improve for a couple of years. Very fresh and full of life/body
