Amyndeon is a wine region in north west Greece in the province of Macedonia. Ambitious wine growers and winemakers have flocked to the region in recent years. The main city is Aghios Panteleimon on the shore of Lake Vegoritis. It is mostly flat land, sandy soil with a subsoil of limestone. It is surrounded by Kaimaktsalan and Vitsi mountains, in addition to several lakes. This creates the micorclimates ideal for grape growing. It is a high altitude area, and the coolest climate for grape growing in Greece. Notable producers are Alpha Wine Estate, Kir-Yianni, Amyntaion Cooperative, and some others.

A bit weighty on entry, this has a seductive texture, smooth and polished but also subtly tactile with dusty little tannins. the flavors ... Read More

Very aromatic. Medium to heavy mouth feel with slowly emerging flavors of nectarine and lime. Builds to a well-rounded citrus palate and a long, acidic finish. Delicious Greek wine. Read More
