  • Herzog Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley Special Edition 2004

Complex and floral. Very graceful Cabernet, but maybe could use decanting to fill out the body. Read More

  • Weingut Weegmüller Riesling Kabinett Haardter Bürgergarten 2005

Good quality-price relation. The wine has a bright gold color. In the nose surprises with its intensity and complexity. Dominant mineral aromas are accompanied by a fruity bouquet of peach and pear. In mouth, at the beginning a bit sparkling with pleasant dryness and mild sourness. Minerals are again the dominant flavor. Good wine with harmonic,... Read More

  • Franz Künstler Riesling Spätlese Hochheimer Kirchenstück 2003

Nose of citric acid and pineapple - actually smells a bit like beer too! I also think I detected a little clean dirt in the aroma. Very rich tropical fruit taste - mango, clementine, apricots. Terrific, mouth-watering acidity on a very long finish make me feel this would be an outstanding aperitif. Definitely sweet -- but the acidity helps balan... Read More

  • Franz Künstler Riesling Spätlese Hochheimer Kirchenstück 2003

Nose is hops and candied pineapple. Taste is apricots with a high sugar content (very typical for 2003), but with nice acidity which keeps it from being cloying. Has a long finish of fruit sherbet at the back of the throat. 7% alcohol. Should hold on to this for a few more years, but tastes quite good right now. [92] Read More
