Probably just about anywhere. This is a level just a notch about Tafelwein (the lowest rank) and marketed worldwide. Not that this should deter you - many of these wines are very popular and make a good quaff.

Weingut Fritz Windisch Heimersheimer Rotenfels Dornfelder 2008
Snoothrank:
Starting at $7.99 I absolutely love this wine. For those of you out there plagued with migraines, this is the one red wine that I have come across that isn't a trigger. Again, I just love it and haven't experienced a red wine any better than this one.

Joseph Handler Sweet Red 2008
Snoothrank:
A bit too young and fruity for my taste, at least with food which was how I tried it. I think on its own or with dessert, this would be a nice, easily approachable sweet red. Serve fairly well chilled, at white temp.

Sideyard Vineyards Riesling Rheinhessen 2006
Snoothrank:
Nice golden colour; hints of peach and tropical fruits (guava?) on the nose; a little sweet with quite a bit of acid, tropical fruits again and butterscotch on the palate. Ate with a red pasta sauce which neither added nor subtracted from the wine. Drunk Feb 2010. Bought a couple... Read more

Good Reisling (Mosel or Rheinwein) is relatively cheap for the quality. For ... white wine. One recent Rheinhessen by Gunderloch (a very reputable Weingute) is one such wine - Fritiz's Reisling. Anyway, a start...
