Bergerac Rouge refers to red wines produced within the Bergerac region of South-West France. These are typically blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Fer Servadou and/or Merille. Most wines are labeled simply “Bergerac” or “Bergerac Rouge.” Those of higher quality (from lower yields, higher quality fruit sources and slightly elevated alcohol percentage) are labeled “Côtes de Bergerac.”
