Lirac on Snooth

Definitely a winner. Not the typical spicy Rhone but a nice smooth drink.

This wine is a blend of Viognier, Roussane, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul, Bourboulenc and Clairette. Clear and light lemon colour. Young and intense on the nose, it is a complex mix of almond, caramelised sugar and...

Mordoree Lirac Blanc Reine des Bois 2008

Starting at $35.95 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
August 2009

I tasted this summer a 2008 chardonnay from my area which spent 6 months in ... Rhône wines : Vacqueyras, Lirac, Gigondas, Chateauneuf, Beaumes de Venise, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Crozes, Côte-Rotie, Cornas, Sablet,...

August 2009

at first, the wine had a very cake-sugary aroma...the taste was not true to scent, though. After the wine opened up a little bit, it smelled almost chocolate/tobacco-ey, which I enjoyed.

Cru Lirac Rouge Chateau Boucarut 2005

Starting at $12.96 Snoothrank: 3/5

Nose of minerals, wood and starchy fruit. This was a clearance wine, being a 2004, so I thought it might be no good, but worth the try. It's a dry wine that will appeal to those who like a crisp, stony, dry white for the...

Domaine Lafond Lirac Roc-Epine 2004

Starting at $14.49 Snoothrank: 3/5

Fresh floral white stone fruit. Just a touch of oak. I prefer my white Rhone more herby and savoury but this is good value easy drinking
