Cotes de Provence

Cotes de Provence is a large, somewhat generic appellation in Provence that is best known for its rosés. However, some excellent reds are also made, mostly from Syrah and Mourvedre, but also Grenache, Cinsaut, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others. The few whites tend toward the soft and aromatic, dominated as they are by Semillon, Clairette, and Ugni Blanc.

This Provencal Rose from a very well-known producer is an elegant example of wine for which this ancient Roman province was renown for centuries.
