Cotes de Provence

Cotes de Provence is a large, somewhat generic appellation in Provence that is best known for its rosés. However, some excellent reds are also made, mostly from Syrah and Mourvedre, but also Grenache, Cinsaut, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others. The few whites tend toward the soft and aromatic, dominated as they are by Semillon, Clairette, and Ugni Blanc.

Binny's 8/2015. Interesting entry into the Rosé weekend because my daughter from Texas was in town and she loves this wine type. Most consumers at our house preferred the Portuguese Rosé' to this one. I, on the other hand, liked the subtle flavors in this one. Read More

  • Lampe de Meduse Cru Classé Rosé 2014

    Snoothrank:

Really nice Provence rose. Light salmon color with watermelon and a hint of mint on the nose. On the palate is lively citrus, tart bing cherry, a touch of melon, lively acidity and a medium long finish. Very refreshing and enjoyable, and the bottle is kind of neat also. Read More
