Pouilly-fumé Wine

Pouilly-Fume is an appellation in the so-called Central Vineyards of the Loire Valley -- the eastern Loire. The grape variety used is Sauvignon Blanc. Here, as in Sancerre, just across the river, one finds Kimmeridgian limestone soil, but there is flint, too, which gives these Sauvignons their characteristic gunflint aroma.

Also Orange peel on the nose, on the palate, lemon, citrus, white peach with hints of chalk and salinity. A tiny touch of sweetness around 1.8 residual sugar with great acidity. It lingers ... A beautiful melon fruit aroma with hints of flint & grass.Orange peel on the nose; on the palate, lemon citrus, white peach, hints of chalk and salinity, and a touch of sweetness, with good acidity.
