St. Véran on SnoothOctober 2016
BLM, a nice chablis comes to mind.Back from Paso and getting back into the routine. Popped a really nice Maconnais chard from Drouhin (St. Veran) to start off our weekend.Grilled some wild caught Alaskan salmon and asparagus (from somewhere) with Mahatma saffron yellow rice. Not to try to be too creative, I opened a 2010 Pinot from Moshin (OT co... Read More

Excellent chardonnay from Drouhin - Burgundy. Lemon cream, key lime, slate, minerality, a bit of saline and a good bite of acidity. Not overly complex or deep but a nice, mouth watering chard from a great producer. Read More

Very much like a Chablis in brightness, but unoaked Chardonnay, refreshing. Waiter suggested this with a pounded and planko covered pork dish...a surprising choice due to the red chile sauce the pork sat in, but paired very well. Read More

Not bad but not great blend of chardonnay and viognier. Feels a bit heavy on the viognier with some ripe pear, butterscotch and muted lemon on the palate. Read More

Not much going on here, taste is almost non-existant, slight hint of pear and green apple. Won't be buying this again any time soon. Read More

A delightful wine with fine Pouilly-Fuisse character, buttery but with a finely adjusted element of acidity and flinty overtones. Read More

Lovely Chardonnay, though in this tasting I didn't find it any more compelling than the lower-priced 2006 Verget "generic" St. Veran. Soft, suave texture and attractive flavors of citrus, buttered apple, sweet straw, and butterscotch. Nicely balanced, refreshing and untiring to the palate - the kind of Chardonnay you can drink every day. Read More
